Our maintenance teams have a very big and a very, very important job ensuring our tenant’s live in warm, dry and healthy homes.
For the 2017/18 financial year we carried out 450,000 repairs on our 64,000 state houses around New Zealand.
That massive volume of work saw $474 million dollars spent on upgrading, maintaining and improving the quality of our homes for tenants.
Every day our teams manage 1,200 maintenance callouts to ensure we are responding quickly to the needs of our tenants and their families.
The Maintenance Delivery - Northern team which looks after half of the Auckland region as well as Northland region, recently spent a morning helping out at Auckland City Mission packing food parcels.
Auckland City Mission’s work helps support anyone in desperate need, including the homeless community and low income families.
The Maintenance team had decided they wanted to work together to help those less fortunate.
With cover provided by another Auckland based maintenance team, the team of Amanda, Selma, Jo, Tina, Tennille and Cathy arrived bright early at the City Mission ready to get stuck in.
Manager Regional Maintenance – Northern Miranda said when the team arrived back in the office; everyone was buzzing from their team effort.
‘The team felt really proud to contribute to those less fortunate and plan to make helping at the City Mission an annual team event’.
“The team were also amazed with the sheer scale of the work the Mission does and how hard everyone works to make a difference to lives of people who need it most”, Miranda says.
