Other ways we can help

If you are not eligible for one of our houses, we will talk with you about other housing options. These options could be one of the following.

Private rental

If your housing needs pre-assessment at the Customer Services Centre shows you’re not eligible for a state house, our housing advisors will explain what support is available for you to rent privately and provide  information about the private rental market and properties available in your area.

Home ownership

If you are interested in home ownership, we can talk about initiatives that may be right for you. Or you can call us on 0508 935 266 to talk about home ownership options.

Staying where you are

If you choose to stay where you are, we will link you with services that can help make it easier. These may include Work and Income, Department of Building and Housing, budgeting services or other support services.

City council and community housing

We can refer you to appropriate local council or community housing providers in your area who also have houses for rent.
