Housing New Zealand provides state houses for those in the greatest need, for their time of need. We own or manage more than 69,000 properties throughout the country, including about 1,500 houses used by community groups. Some of the properties we rent out are leased from private property owners.
We also help people make the move from renting to owning their own home, by providing a range of home loans and home ownership services.
In this section you will find information on how to rent a Housing New Zealand house or flat and what you need to know once you are living in one.
There's also information on:
- home ownership services
- leasing a property to Housing New Zealand, for guaranteed year-round rent
- advice for neighbours of Housing New Zealand tenants.
