FAQs

Q: Why are you coming to inspect my home?

A: We are committed to ensuring our rental homes are looked after and kept in good order. We regularly check their condition to see what maintenance we may need to do, or what repairs you may need to do.

Q: How many days notice do I have to give if I want to move out?

A: Twenty one days. You can leave earlier but you may have to pay the rent for the whole period. Sometimes we are able to re-let the property before the 21 days is up, so you may not have to pay the full amount. Talk to your tenancy manager.

Q: When will the contractor who's doing work on my house arrive?

Q: How is income-related rent calculated?

A: Income-related rent is a government-funded rent subsidy. If you qualify for income-related rent and you live alone, your weekly rent will be 25 percent of your net (take-home) income up to the New Zealand Super rate. If you earn more than this, 50 percent of your net income that is above the Super rate will be included as rent. You cannot be charged more than the market rent for the property.

For all other households, income-related rent is 25 percent of your household's net income up to the married New Zealand Super rate. If you earn over this, 50 percent of your net income above the married Super rate will be included as rent. You cannot be charged more than the market rent for the property.
