Good on ya, Tuck
Tuck Whiu has been a member of the Northcote Central community for the past 18 years. During that time, he's seen the community become what it is today and he's proud to be part of it.
Tuck, a valued member of the Northcote Central Redevelopment Group Trust, has been providing feedback about the needs of the community and Housing New Zealand tenants for the past four years.
Most days you will find Tuck pottering around the Northcote Community Renewal office chatting to fellow tenants about local issues, lending out tools from the tool library or helping with the community garden.
Tuck spends around 20 hours each week volunteering his time and is always willing to help.
“My door is always open to those who want a chat, need help or advice,” says Tuck.
Tuck highly recommends volunteering in the Community Renewal Office.
“If you have a spare few minutes, pop in and we will find you something to do to help our wonderful community. It could range from working in the garden to helping out in either the tool or toy libraries. Any help will be gratefully received,” he says.
For those working in the Community Renewal Office, like me, it's always great to see Tuck's smiling face around the place. If you have a few spare moments and you're in need of some sunshine, he's a great friend to potter in the garden with.
